this vacation was very fulfilling for me, that was my first time to europ, i loved it..

gottingen is a place that i will always long to.. but i also visited some more places that i can't forget, i mean zell am see in austria, i was stunned by the beauty, the mountains, lakes, waterfalls, caves.. astonishing landscapes.. i felt like a poet there, i could only hear poems recited inside of me as i walked on the top mountains, where it is very silent, looking at clouds passing under my feet, i prayed thankful prayers for such beauty.. i admired the snow the cold breeze i loved earth, grass, trees, mud and cool water more than ever.

i had my knitting needles in my hands and could not knit a stitch.. my eyes, mind and soul were took by such beauty..

usually i would knit one sock at a time, but when i was in duderstadt's old town market, i found a lovely knitting shop that had a few of great wooden needles, i was surprised of their high price, but the lady told me they are made of the finest wood in the world, i letterly kissed them and bought them.. and started the second sock with them, it is so wonderful to fall in love again!

I spent my morning in the beautiful town market of gottingen, amazing place! everything is full of life and beauty, the street tiles are arranged like a big peice of art in complete harmony with the buildings. i loved the flowers, the historical fountain, the churches with the sound of the bills resonating every now and then, a guitar player here and a violin player there, the cold brieze and the light drops of rain, the cafes, the frown on the old peoples' faces and the smile on the youngsters.. i loved the weeds that grew between the tiles, i loved every bit of it...

i've got these beautiful yarns from two knitting shops in the market, and some knitting needles, enthusiastically i started a new sock right away!

i enjoyed doing these twin pots so much.. i still feel good when i look at them..

finally, i joined pattern making classes along with sewing classes, the teacher is amazing, she is fun and very tolerant to stupid mistakes that we do, women in the class are great as well, we are having a very nice time.

door step pots made all the difference in walking in and out the door, i painted them and gave them a coat of wood varnish to protect the paint.

so i casted on a new project, i started a shawl for my son, i was really inspired by this lady

and yeah, i finished the shawl of my eldest,,

za'beel park, the heart of Dubai

it was a great afternoon, we went to za'beel park the most spectacular place ever, i loved it to death, I'm definitely going to make visiting this park a habit, it's a great walk and a fantastic place for the kids, i did some knitting while the kids were playing, the weather is still warm but with a fine breeze, I'm always thinking of starting a blog just for the lovely city of Dubai, i don't seem to get enough with all the beauty that i see around me!
just one more thing, this park lies in the middle of several busy streets, it's quite a relief because you still find some balance between a busy city and a lovely landscape.

so you know what is the traffic like in Dubai, streets are too crowded with all the construction work of the metro going on, i had to figure out something to do in all of that wasted time, of course, KNITTING, when cars stop knit, cars move stop knitting and drive with out being disturbed by all the traffic jams.

so the main idea is that good girls are the girls who drive black dodges and knit in the middle of traffic jams.

we have been to the desert yesterday or what we call "bur" it was fabulous, the funniest thing is that while we were setting and preparing our food a herd of camels gathered around us, and started eating our paper box, i didn't know they liked boxes! any way we enjoyed their company because they stuck around the whole time,

knitting is a treasure, once you find it you can't get enough of it,
knitters are calm and peaceful, because they meditate, it's a beautiful thing i knit nearly every where, i cant describe the feeling that i get out of knitting, it's a deep thinking activity, i even invent things while i knit, i get the most fresh and bright ideas, i get more concentrated every day.
i love knitting, and i truly thank god with all of my heart for that gift, and yes it's true: knitters are blessed.

I'm so falling in love with these crochet booties, i used a fine 4ply cotton yarn, and a 2.5mm crochet hook, i wrote the pattern myself, i really thought of vanilla and white chocolate and tried to put the scent and the feeling into crochet stitches.

what a relieve!

I had a nose job done for me on thursday, it was bad! i looked like a frog till yesterday (a purple one actually), what is even worse is that i had to lie down on my back and watch TV for 4 days, this is hill for me I'm a very active person, and now i cant exercise for a month!!

it is so weird, that you agree on every thing before the surgery and once you get it done, you start whining about it.

Pretty inspiring!
My husband and I went dining in that desert resort, which has a unique atmosphere, it is right in the middle of the desert we had to drive 45 minutes before reaching to it, in a long clueless dark narrow road, which gives you a sort of mystery feeling, but when we arrived, bab al shams was way too vibrant, horses and camels were part of the tremendous view, the pure clean air of the desert has a very calming effect, and the food, was the most delicious food I have ever tasted, it was beyond imagination just great lovely, we dined here:

A lovely morning deserves a valuable ceremony, BAKING!
This morning was outstanding, the sun was slightly warm, and the breeze was gently cold, the kind of weather that encourages you to do something nice!
You might have noticed by now that I’m a weather girl, I GET GENERATED BY WEATHER, HOW AWESOME IS THAT! I could freak myself out with this piece of information, any way here I am in the kitchen, I tuned my television on the 7star channel because they have a daily ritual to play Fairouz concerts every morning, so here I am listening to Fairouz and baking bread, it was quite enjoyable really, I prepared myself a breakfast that was pleasantly delicious.

My husband and I were coming back from dubai to lahbab which lies in the middle of the desert, when my husband spotted something weird, he immediately took the u-turn and came back, telling me that he might have seen a whale!!! WHAT? What is this giant monster doing in the middle of the desert it was so huge, we were stunned; the first thing I was thinking of is WHY THE HILL ARE YOU BURYING IT?
Use it for anatomy or at least keep the skeleton, anything that could help research or study, it was a stupid thing to do actually!!

So it was great, we have been to fujairah this weekend, a spectacular place really, you see either a high mountain or a deep valley those two contrasts make all the magic and the sea draws a sparkling line around the hills, we spent the whole day on the beach the kids were absolutely enjoying every moment!

I woke up this morning and the city was covered with a heavy blanket of fog, which we in dubai are so not used to it! Anyway, fog always bring a memory of Jordan to my mind, when I was 16 or so, I visited amman, my parents house lies on high mountain hill, forests rest on that mountain you can occasionally see horses pass by and always see sheep herds, the breeze is ever cold and it is always silent but from cries of passing by children, this place is called “marj el hamam” or “the hill of doves”, it captured my heart I always think about it and feel nostalgic. The mornings in marj el hamam are always foggy; I remember waking up at six and I felt very cold although it was summer back then, I wrapped myself with my blanket and went for a walk along the hill, I miss that moment of clarity, I always long for that walk and each time it’s foggy in dubai I try to live that morning again, in fact I’m always longing deeply for amman, sometimes I allow myself to pour some tears over the memory, I miss being so young, spontaneous and free!

Oil colors are great on mud pots; they are solid, firm and vivid.
They make a nice ever lasting coverage for a pot that you intend to keep for a life time, I love working with oil colors because they are flexible and mix very well. They are perfect for large pots.

this chicken is my pet, a great one actually, she follows me all day long where ever I go. My children are fond of her, it took me quite some time to give her a name, but I knew that my great grandmother had a chicken too, she used to call her “khurkhush halakha خُرخُش حَلَقها” it means “her earring’s tingle”

I SO LOVED IT!! so it became my chicken’s name too!

It’s Friday morning, I was sorting my baby’s cloths out, when I came through an old blanket that belonged to my first son, I had an idea, I’ll make a doll for my baby girl from it! I started making it, cut the edges stitch the eyes and as it was forming my two sons noticed what I was doing, they were very happy and waiting with anticipation, asking me questions, I filled it with the edges of the blanket and other soft cotton pajamas that were not useful any more.
It took me six hours to get it done.
My children were very happy and my baby girl started talking to her doll immediately

It’s a simple doll with great sentimental value!

In Dubai springs are warm, but still have a cold breeze so I thought that a caplet will be what my baby girl needs,
I made this for her with a hat to match.
I made a chain of 56 stitches; you really have to do your own measurement, doubled them in the next row, doubled them again in the third row, and then I built two rows, to finish the caplet I’ve chosen this wonderful fan stitch.
Very easy hah!
Just the perfect project for a beginner like me!

The oval shape of the egg, gives me a great feeling of warmth and energy. It also reminds me of mother earth, they both share the same nature, both made of mud, oval shaped, and they both give birth to a new life!
Working with mud eggs goes beyond crafting; I consider it a time of tender thoughts.
